I’m not a lawyer, but I know what depraved indifference is. Several people knew what those insane people were planning to do before they killed two police officers at a CiCi’s and a bystander at a Wal-Mart, but people failed to report what they heard to the police. Consequently, there are children without fathers and wives without husbands who will mourn their loss for the rest of their lives. Our community has lost two fine law enforcement officers and a good and brave neighbor.
Why haven’t these silent citizens been charged with a crime? I asked Metro. The answer was, “We can’t point fingers.”
What happened to: “If you see something, say something”?
How much will it take to encourage people to participate in their own safety and the preservation of our way of life?
