The Nevada Supreme Court has suspended a Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer who awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to felony forgery and false instrument charges in a courthouse counseling scheme.
A three-justice panel temporarily suspended attorney Brian Bloomfield on Tuesday and referred his case to the State Bar of Nevada for possible disbarment.
Bloomfield became a member of the state Bar in 2003.
He and his lawyer, William Terry, didn't immediately respond Wednesday to messages.
Bloomfield pleaded guilty in December in Clark County District Court in a case alleging that he and several others falsified court documents showing that defendants completed court-ordered counseling and community service.
Bloomfield continued defending clients in court while cooperating with prosecutors in his case.
