Feds order Las Vegas distributor to recall mislabeled pork

Federal authorities ordered a Las Vegas food distributor to recall almost 15,000 pounds of misbranded raw pork nugget product shipped since January to Southern Nevada hotels, restaurants and other eateries.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said Thursday the recalled product contains wheat, an allergen that isn't declared on product labels.

The action affects 10-pound cases of Mr. Wok Foods "battered, deep fried pork nugget."

The product bears the code "EST. 20783" inside USDA inspection marks on labels, and packaging dates between Jan. 25 and June 14, 2014.

A telephone message left with the company wasn't immediately returned.

The mislabeling was blamed on a change in flour supplier.

The inspection service says there have been no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products.
