Metro car involved in collision

A Metro Police patrol car collided with another car today while responding to a standoff in northwest Las Vegas.

The collision occurred about 10 a.m. at Rampart Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue. The patrol car had its police lights on while traveling south on Rampart Boulevard when it entered the intersection, police said. At the same time, a Hummer SUV entered the intersection, traveling east on Cheyenne.

The patrol car crashed into the SUV, sending it into a pickup truck, police said. Two people were transported to Mountain View Hospital with minor injuries. No police officers were injured in the crash.

Metro is investigating the collision.
