A North Las Vegas Police officer who shot a man carrying a knife on Monday has been identified.
Officer Raymond Lopez, a five-year veteran of the department, reportedly shot David L. Robinson several times after trying to stop him in the street. Robinson allegedly refused to cooperate, and “the situation escalated,” North Las Vegas Police Officer Chrissie Coon said.
The department has not released any other details related to the fatal shooting.
Robinson died from gunshot wounds to the head, coroner’s officials said.
