A 45-year-old woman crossing Spring Mountain Road outside a marked crosswalk was hit and killed by a minivan this morning, Metro Police said.
The accident happened about 5:45 a.m., just west of Hauck Street, where the Las Vegas woman and a male pedestrian were crossing the street, police said.
The 2007 Toyota Sienna minivan was eastbound on Spring Mountain when it hit the woman, who was taken to University Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said.
Neither the male pedestrian nor the driver of the minivan and a passenger were injured, police said.
Spring Mountain from Decatur Boulevard to Lindell Road was closed until about 8:15 a.m., Metro Officer Laura Meltzer said.
The incident is under investigation, but the 63-year-old driver of the minivan was not suspected of driving under the influence, police said.
