Man found dead in car outside convenience store

Shooting

Metro Police are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was discovered Thursday night outside a convenience store in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The man was found shot in the head about 8:40 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 7700 block of S. Jones Boulevard, Lt. James Mizusaki said. His body was in the back seat of a car that had apparently rolled into another vehicle in the lot.

Police found the man after another gunshot victim walked into the store to ask for help from a clerk. That victim was rushed to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening. Police don't know what his relationship is to the dead man or whether he was driving the car.

The dead man was alone in the car when officers arrived.

No other details about the shooting were available late Thursday.
