Downtown wrong place for horses

I read the Joe Downtown column “How horse-drawn carriages will alter Fremont East" on May 1 with serious doubts about the carriages.

I realize it’s taboo to talk against anything that makes money when it comes to Las Vegas and its entertainment industry.

One must wonder what goes on in those poor horses’ minds when they are in a hostile environment.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is trying to eliminate horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, which have been there for years.

I always had a fear of horses. One day, I bit the bullet and went to Bonnie Springs and rode a horse. Within a few minutes, my fear was gone. I had a great day, and my horse was in a safe and noise-free environment, not to mention the lack of exhaust fumes from endless motor vehicles.

What is next — dog sleds on wheels?
