51s use eight-run inning to down Tacoma

The Las Vegas 51s exploded with eight runs in the sixth inning today for an 8-3 victory against visiting Tacoma at Cashman Field.

Andrew Brown had an RBI double, Brandon Allen a run-scoring triple and Juan Centeno a two-run double to highlight the Las Vegas scoring outburst.

Earlier today, the 51s lost the first game of the series to Tacoma, 6-5, in the continuation of a game suspended Saturday because of high winds.

Top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard gave up three first-inning runs, but settled down to strikeout 10 in six innings. Matt den Dekker went 3 for 3 with a pair of runs and Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 2 for 4 with two RBIs

The series continues against Tacoma at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
