Beheaded chickens a mystery for Las Vegas Animal Control

A group of beheaded chickens has left the Las Vegas Animal Control office with a mystery on its hands.

Animal Control officers found 10 mangled birds on May 5 behind the Lafayette Square strip mall in the 1400 block of East Charleston Boulevard, city spokesman Jace Radke said. A week later, officials still haven’t a clue how the chickens ended up there.

They have since been disposed of, and city officials notified Metro Police about the strange find. Radke said he wasn't aware of any similar incidents being reported in the area.

Police didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry about the chickens early today.

City officials provided no other information about the episode.
