Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a home run today for the Las Vegas 51s, but it wasn’t enough in a 7-5 loss at the Fresno Grizzlies.
Josh Satin, Andrew Brown, Brandon Allen and Zach Lutz each had a pair of hits for the 51s, who lost for the second straight day.
Fresno pitcher Jason Berken helped his own cause by going 2 for 2 with three RBIs, including a run-scoring single in a four-run fourth inning.
The series continues at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday in Fresno. The 51s return home to Cashman Field Friday to face Sacramento.
