A woman is behind bars after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a concrete wall early this morning, leaving her passenger with life-threatening injuries, according to a Metro Police arrest report.

Kristiana Dimcheva, 23, was booked into Clark County Detention Center on one count of driving under the influence, resulting in substantial bodily harm, according to jail records.

The District Attorney’s Office has not filed formal charges.

Police responded about 1:45 a.m. to the crash at the T intersection of Buffalo Drive and Tropicana Avenue. The driver, Kristiana Dimcheva, 23, of Las Vegas was traveling south on Buffalo in a Volkswagen Jetta when she crossed the intersection and crashed into the wall, police said.

Jose Antonio Gomez-Lunarte, the 28-year-old passenger, was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries to his head and abdomen, according to the arrest report.

Dimcheva suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Several beer bottles, some unopened and some broken, were in Dimcheva’s car, according to the arrest report.

Dimcheva refused to put her lips around the breathalyzer, but when she blew in its direction the device registered the presence of alcohol, the report said.

Officers drew blood from Dimcheva after obtaining a warrant, the report said.

The report did not mention Dimcheva’s blood alcohol content level.
