A 37-year-old man is dead after his SUV spun out of control and went airborne, hitting a concrete column, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
The man was going southbound on US 95, taking the offramp to West Lake Mead Drive near the Fiesta Henderson when he veered off the left side of the roadway, the Nevada Highway Patrol release said.
The blue 2008 Ford Expedition continued into the rock-covered shoulder and up the concrete embankment until it struck a beam of the overpass, sending it into the air, the release said.
The SUV landed on its roof, striking a concrete column, the release said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. Speed contributed to the deadly crash, the release said.
The toxicology report is pending, the release said.
