A man was shot and killed in what police are calling an "accidental discharge" late Saturday afternoon near Lake Mead and Jones boulevards.
Metro Police responded to a call in the 5800 block of West Lake Boulevard reporting that a male had been shot. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.
Detectives at the scene conducted a preliminary investigation that indicated the death was the result of an accidental discharge. Investigators determined the victim accidentally shot himself while handling a firearm.
