Proceeds from taco sale, cafe purchases to pay for crash victims’ funeral costs

Two families grieving the loss of loved ones killed in recent crashes are holding fundraisers to help pay for funeral costs.

The family of Guadalupe Rodriguez, 17, is selling tacos starting 5 p.m. today at her grandmother's house, 4608 Supreme Court, Las Vegas.

Rodriguez died Sunday when the car she was riding in crashed into a light pole on Sahara Avenue, west of Sloan Lane. Two other teens were seriously injured in the wreck.

On Saturday, the family of 43-year-old Mario Regalado, a bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday in Henderson, is hosting a fundraising at Leone Café in Tivoli Village. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the café will donate 25 percent of its profits to the family.

Henderson Police have not located the driver who struck Regalado.

Both families also have created fundraising websites.
