Police are seeking information on a 41-year-old woman whose body was found strangled to death near Lake Mead earlier this month.
The body of Julia Garcia, also known as Julia Lopez-Maravilla, was found wrapped in plastic Nov. 15 near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Pabco Road, near the entrance to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Metro Police said in a statement.
Red Rock Search and Rescue Cmdr. David Cummings said a search crew was looking for another missing woman, 46-year-old Susana Villalvazo, when they noticed the body on the side of the road.
Metro is asking anyone with information on Garcia's whereabouts between Nov. 5 and Nov. 15 to call detectives at 702-828-3521 or to email [email protected].
