DeMichael Walker rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, Tanoa Alapati threw three touchdown passes, and Legacy rolled to a 41-14 home win over Durango to open Southwest League play Thursday night.

Alapati threw a 55-yard touchdown strike to A.J. Culpepper, a 20-yard TD to Kourde Roberts and a 42-yard TD to Kevion Johnson, Longhorns coach John Isola said.

“He’s progressing now,” Isola said of Alapati. “You look at the numbers the past three games, he’s a junior and needed to get some confidence. He’s throwing the right passes.”

Isola said Justin Whitehead added 24 yards and a touchdown on three carries for the Longhorns, who improved to 2-3 overall.

“I’m happy with the balance,” Isola said, before alluding to penalties as an area of concern.

Durango dropped to 1-4.
