In a letter Sept. 26 (The problem with arming rebels) the writer, in a blatant attempt to discredit and blame Sen. Harry Reid for the upcoming attempt to train and arm Syrian rebels, asked this question: “If our ‘military advisers’ — including combat experienced Special Forces members — should recognize any of these experienced rebels, (who gained combat experience in Afghanistan and Iraq) will they apprehend them?”
In rebuttal, I ask “Why didn’t you include Republican Sens. Dean Heller, John McCain (and Lindsey Graham?” McCain and Graham are two of the most outspoken hawks in the Senate for arming the rebels. Heller also can be included in that group of hawks. I believe I already know what your answer would be, and I stated it in the first sentence of this letter!
