Updated Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 | 8:20 p.m.

Crews have cleared a suspicious substance found this afternoon in a boy's bathroom at Cheyenne High School, officials said.

Capt. Ken Young of Clark County School District Police said workers found the substance and a concerning note about 2:45 p.m. in the bathroom.

A hazmat team was called to the scene, and officials tested the substance before clearing it and leaving the scene about 7:40 p.m., Young said

Officials will await the test results.

Young said no students were on campus when the substance was found but a few staff members were still at the school, located at 3200 W. Alexander Road, in North Las Vegas.

The staff members were moved to a secure area on scene, Young said.

The North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to the incident at the school, fire department Capt. Cedric Williams said.

Young said the building is habitable again and school should not be impacted Monday.
