I was surprised the Sun would publish uncritically the cartoon of President Barack Obama by Kevin Siers in the Oct. 4 edition.
The nonpolitical intelligence community (especially the CIA) was in place long before Obama took office. Harsh political rhetoric is one thing, but to demean the president — as has been routinely done by many critics since January 2009 — with an allusion to the Nobel Peace Prize is, to say the least, bush league.
The “we” the president uses in the cartoon should mean the United States and people appointed or hired by presidents of both parties within the intelligence field over many years.
Again, my deepest disappointment!
