This man stabbed an elderly man and stole his car from the Cannery parking garage on Sept. 8, 2014, North Las Vegas Police said.

North Las Vegas Police are asking for help identifying a man they say stabbed an elderly man last month in a casino parking garage before fleeing in the victim's car.

The suspect approached an elderly married couple Sept. 9 in the Cannery garage on East Craig Road and demanded unspecified items, North Las Vegas Police said in a statement.

He then became impatient and pushed the wife to the ground before stabbing the husband, police said.

The couple was transported to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Officer Aaron Patty said.

The suspect took the keys to the victim's car and fled the scene in their silver 2003 Pontiac Grand Am with Nevada license plate 436YNV, police said.

Police are searching for the suspect, described as a 25-year-old black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a shirt with red, white and blue stripes.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to call 702-633-9111. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
