One northbound lane is open on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets mall as crews continue to repair a gas leak that occurred this morning.

Southwest Gas spokesman Stephen Miller said crews are beginning relights, the last step in the process of resolving the leak reported about 9:50 a.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard between Warm Springs and Robindale roads.

After a leak, gas has to be turned off and removed from the system before the line break can be repaired, Miller said.

Gas must then be put back into the system before crews can begin relights for each customer affected, he said.

There is no estimate for when the process will be complete.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane are open in the area, Miller said.

Southwest Gas is still investigating the cause of the leak.

According to Clark County Fire Department officials, a group was boring in the area and hit a gas line.
