Skeletal remains of two people found in Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Skeletal remains of two bodies were found Saturday afternoon at two locations in the Lake Mead National Recreational Area.

A call came in at 12:15 p.m. after two kayakers found skeletal remains at river mile 62 on Lake Mohave, according to National Park Service Public Affairs Officer Christie Vanover.

Rangers and the Mohave County medical examiner investigated the scene.

Then, at 3:45 p.m., another call came in when boaters at Stewart's Point Cove on Lake Mead also found skeletal remains.

The Clark County coroner's office will be taking the remains and identifying the individuals and cause of death.
