Woman injured in weekend ATV accident remains in hospital

A 67-year-old woman injured in an all-terrain vehicle rollover accident Sunday remains in serious condition, a University Medical Center spokesperson said.

Nancy Perez was still being treated at UMC, hospital representative Danita Cohen said.

Perez was injured and an unidentified 68-year-old man killed in the accident at the Apex/Nellis dunes off-highway vehicle area, near Clark R. Peterson Boulevard and North Las Vegas Boulevard, according to a Metro Police news release.

Police received reports about 1:40 p.m. that a Yamaha Rhino rolled down a hill, according to the release.

The man driving was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

Perez, the passenger, was taken by air ambulance to the hospital, according to the release.

She was semiconscious when crews arrived, Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Bachanan said.
