The man who died Tuesday in a car accident on Interstate 15 was North Las Vegas resident David Makkonen, the Clark County Coroner's Office said today.
Police say Makkonen's Toyota Corolla hit the right wall on a northbound highway on ramp near Tropicana Avenue just before 3:40 p.m. Damage to the car was minor but Makkonen, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Nevada Highway Patrol. Because the damage to car was not very extensive, police believe Makkonen might have died from a medical emergency.
The coroner has yet to determine his exact cause of death.
