Henderson middle school temporarily locked down

Mannion Middle School

A Henderson middle school was briefly locked down this morning, according to the Clark County School District.

A man walked into the front office at Mannion Middle School, 155 E. Paradise Hills Drive, about 8:30 a.m., and staff members were unsure of his intentions, School District spokeswoman Melinda Malone said.

As a precaution, they locked down the school, she said.

Malone did not specify what made staff members suspicious. They didn’t judge the man a threat, but campus police were notified, she said.

The lockdown was lifted at 8:50 a.m. without incident, Malone said.
