A climber fell 20 feet this morning in Red Rock Canyon, injuring his leg and requiring help from Metro Police's search and rescue team.
The man was hiking in a group in the Calico Hills area when he fell. He was transported out of the canyon on a helicopter and taken to University Medical Center, according to Metro.
Metro received a call about the incident at 9:58 a.m., spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.
He may have injured his back and broken his leg, according to Metro Police Sgt. Sean Toman.
