A robbery near Charles Silvestri Junior High School prompted officials to lock down the building this afternoon, Metro Police said.
A person was injured in the robbery near East Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Pollock Drive, which is less than a half mile from the school, Metro Police spokeswoman Officer Laura Meltzer said. The robbery was reported at 1:39 p.m., she said.
A person matching a suspect’s description left the scene and went into a housing complex, Meltzer said. Silvestri, 1055 Silverado Ranch Blvd., was within the perimeter being searched by police.
The school was locked down about 2 p.m., and the lockdown was lifted about 2:25 p.m., school officials said.
Meltzer said police detained two people, but she could not provide any additional details.
The victim was transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospitals — Siena Campus. The person’s condition was not known.
