Police bust marijuana grow house, credit card lab in southwest valley

Metro Police say they discovered a marijuana grow operation and ID theft lab on Friday at a home in the Spring Valley area of Las Vegas.

Officer Jesse Roybal said police served a search warrant in the 7000 block of Sombra Way, near Hacienda Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, based on a citizen tip of suspected narcotics at the house.

When they arrived, officers found 80 marijuana plants, 50,000 to 100,000 laminating blanks for driver's licenses, and 2,000 credit card blanks, Roybal said. In fraud schemes, blank cards are used or sold to be imprinted with personal details of identity theft victims.

Fraud and forgery detectives described the credit card and driver's license operation as "very sophisticated," according to Roybal.

Roybal said police arrested 33-year-old Dylan Davis, who has a history of violent crimes, though the exact charges were not available.
