Juan Rodriguez completed 9 of 16 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns today for the Centennial HIgh football team in a 21-15 victory against host Las Vegas.
Centennial (4-0) appeared headed for a lopsided victory in the third quarter after Rodriguez connected with Andre Meiers for an 11-yard touchdown and a 21-0 lead.
But Las Vegas made things interesting late thanks to freshman Elijah Hicks. Hicks, the brother of former Las Vegas standout Reggie Bulloch, had two long touchdown runs — including a 90-yarder — to nearly erase the deficit.
Brandan Harley had a 59-yard touchdown reception for Centennial early in the game and the Bulldogs scored a defensive touchdown on an interception return from Tishawn Barnaby. Rhamondre Stevenson rushed 32 times for 162 yards for Centennial.
