Letter to the editor:

So this is justice?

Judge Steven Jones gets still another break. This judge and friends knowingly stole over $1 million from various people, committing ongoing criminal acts for over ten years, and Judge Jones (that’s laughable) was sitting on the bench in his judicial robe while passing sentence on others.

Hard time, right? Nope. Prosecutors agreed not to ask for more than 27 months in prison.

As part of his sentencing plea deal, Jones reluctantly agreed to give up his law license. Do you think?

God help you if you or a friend shoplifted some bread and foods worth a few bucks to feed your kids. They would be piping sunlight to you for a number of years for theft. But stealing $1 million plus allows someone with juice in the legal system to get three hot meals and a cot for 27 months.

Shame on the courts and prosecutors. Justice isn’t blind when it comes to helping your own, is it?
