PALMETTO, Fla. — Police say a man and a woman who was nine months pregnant were killed as they slept when a sport utility vehicle slammed into their home in Florida.
Police tell The Bradenton Herald that the SUV lost control on a highway early Wednesday, crossed the median and crashed through the fence at the Lone Oak Mobile Home Park in Palmetto, south of St. Petersburg.
Officials say the couple were killed on impact, and the fetus also did not survive.
Police say 35-year-old driver was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the driver.
