Rash of auto break-ins reported at Las Vegas parks

The Las Vegas Deputy City Marshal Unit is investigating a series of recent auto burglaries at city parks.

Burglars smashed windows, took purses and then made purchases using the victims’ credit cards, officials said.

The first incident occurred about 8:30 a.m. March 7 at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex at Lake Mead Boulevard and Tenaya Way, officials said.

Other break-ins were reported about 8:30 a.m. March 13 at W. Wayne Bunker Family Park at Tenaya Way and Alexander Road and about 10:45 a.m. March 20 at the Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington Ave.

The city’s Department of Detention and Enforcement polices city parks through the deputy city marshals.
