One person was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be critical injuries after a fire at a downtown duplex this afternoon, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials said.
Firefighters were called about 2 p.m. to 330 S. Maryland Parkway, near Lewis Avenue, fire department spokesman Timothy Szymanski said.
An adult, whose gender was not available, was pulled from the duplex and was being treated for burns and smoke inhalation, Szymanski said. No one else was in the building, he said.
The fire was out, and investigators were on their way to determine the cause, Szymanski said.
The fire was contained to the duplex, he said.
