A man who died after being hit by a car in the west valley Wednesday has been identified as James Buecker, 63, of Las Veas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Buecker was walking west across Jones Boulevard, north of Carmen Boulevard, about 5 p.m. when he was hit by a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, police said. He was not in a marked crosswalk, police said.
Buecker was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The 22-year-old driver, who remained at the scene, tried to avoid hitting Buecker, but her car hit him as it swerved, police said.
