Feb. 13, 2014. The project, a partnership of NRG, BrightSource, Google and Bechtel, is the world’s largest solar thermal facility and uses 347,000 sun-facing mirrors to produce 392 megawatts of electricity, enough energy to power more than 140,000 homes.

As Nevada continues to lead the country in clean energy job growth, rooftop solar company Sunrun today announced plans to add more than 45 new jobs to its Las Vegas operations this spring.

The expansion will nearly double the company’s local workforce.

Sunrun, which bills itself as the largest residential solar company in the country, will meet with and interview interested job candidates at the Las Vegas Choice Career Fair at Texas Station on April 14 and at the Military Spouse Hiring Fair at Nellis Air Force Base on April 29. Available positions range from service technicians to project planners to warehouse specialists. A more detailed list can be found at Sunrun’s careers page.

Sunrun opened its Las Vegas offices and warehouse last year and currently services more than 1000 NV Energy customers in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, Boulder City and surrounding areas. The company has said it’s looking to expand to Northern Nevada as well.

In 2014, Nevada announced the creation of more clean energy jobs than any other state and ranks first in the country for solar jobs per capita. The state added about 3,500 solar jobs in 2014, bringing the industry’s local employment total to 5,900 jobs for the year.

“We’ve grown our business and footprint in Nevada since we began offering Sunrun solar in the market last year,” Sunrun Senior Vice President of Operations Ethan Miller said in a statement. “We’re creating additional jobs in our Las Vegas facility to help support increasing consumer demand as Nevada homeowners become more aware of clean energy options like home solar that can save them money on their electric bill.”
