Firefighters return again to extinguish blaze at abandoned Spring Valley house

Fire at abandoned home

Clark County Fire Department officials say they're investigating a series of suspicious fires after an abandoned, boarded-up home in Spring Valley caught fire this afternoon for the third time in five weeks.

The fire department received multiple calls at 4 p.m. today reporting a house on fire at 6286 Foothill Blvd. Upon arrival, firefighters found the previously boarded-up and abandoned single-story home on fire in at least one room and the attic. Two previous fires had been reported at the residence.

Firefighters were able to force their way into the home and extinguish the fire. No one was found in the residence, and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, officials said.

Thirty-one firefighters from Clark County and city of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to the incident.
