Two people injured in fire at Henderson condominium complex

Updated Tuesday, April 14, 2015 | 6:30 p.m.

One person was taken to the hospital and another was treated for injuries at the scene of a fire this afternoon at a Henderson condominium complex, a city spokeswoman said.

Firefighters received reports about 12:50 p.m. of a fire at Resort Villas at 2050 W. Warm Springs Road, near North Valle Verde Drive, Henderson spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The fire spread to a second building about 1:30 p.m., she said. Officials believe the strong winds that swept through the valley helped fan the fire, she said.

One person was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries; another was treated on scene for undisclosed injuries and released, French said.

Henderson and Clark County firefighters had the blaze out by about 2:15 p.m., she said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, she said. No damage estimate was immediately available.

The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada reported through social media it was assisting five families as a result of the fire.
