Metro Police are searching for a suspect they say was caught on video during a residential burglary late last month.

Officers were called about 7 p.m. March 31 to the 2800 block of Serenidad Drive, near Pebble Road and Las Vegas Boulevard South, police said.

Firearms and other items were missing from a residence and the suspect in the burglary fled, but video footage inside the home captured the incident, police said.

A dog can be seen barking from a couch in surveillance video before the pet leaves and a man enters, blocking the video camera with his hand.

The man, who was carrying a small backpack, is believed to weight about 185 pounds and be about 6 feet tall, police said. He is described as a clean-shaven man between 30 and 50 years old with short brown hair, police said.

He was last seen wearing long, denim shorts and a black polo-style shirt with an “AV Vegas” logo on the upper left front, police said.

Anyone with additional information on the suspect or case can call Metro's South Central Area Command Property Crimes Section at 702-828-3267. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
