Metro now taking police reports online

Metro new police reporting online system

Metro Police has made it easier than ever to file a police report in Las Vegas -- the agency is now accepting the documents online, allowing people to instantly submit and print forms at any time without the need to drive to the department or call an operator.

The agency installed a feature on its website Saturday that allows people to file certain reports and print them out immediately. The service is only available for reports on minor incidents in which no one was injured.

Metro previously only accepted reports at four of its eight area commands and at its downtown police records bureau.

Area command offices are still taking reports between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff there take their last report of the day at 4 p.m. and don't open on holidays:

• Convention Center Area Command, 750 Sierra Vista Drive, (702) 828-6430

• Enterprise Area Command, 6975 West Windmill Lane, (702) 828-2843 or (702) 828-2844

• Northeast Area Command, 3750 Cecile Avenue, (702) 828-3403

• Northwest Area Command, 9850 West Cheyenne Avenue, (702) 828-3426

The department's police records bureau is at 400 S. Martin L. King Blvd., Building C. It's open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The bureau opens on most holidays, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Certain minor reports can also be made over the phone by dialing 311 or (702) 828-3111.
