A scooter rider who died Sunday morning in a crash with a Jeep has been identified as Michael Jay Miner, 45, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Miner was thrown from the 2008 Jonway Scooter after it collided with a 1998 Jeep Cherokee about 4 a.m. at the intersection of East Owens Avenue and North Linn Lane in the east valley, Metro Police said.
The scooter was not registered, police said.
The Jeep hit the right side of the scooter, which overturned, and Miner landed in a landscaped area near the intersection, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The 22-year-old Las Vegas man driving the Jeep was not injured and remained on scene, police said.
