Motorcyclist, pedestrian killed in crash at Eastern and Canosa

A motorcyclist struck a pedestrian early Saturday morning at Eastern and Canosa avenues, killing both, according to Metro Police.

Also according to police:

The 23-year-old Las Vegas motorcyclist, identified as David Ivan Ramey by the Clark County Coroner’s office, was riding a 2006 black Suzuki south on Eastern approaching Canosa at 12:32 a.m. and struck the pedestrian, who was in his 40s and also lived in Las Vegas. Both were thrown to the road and suffered fatal injuries.

Ramey died from blunt-force injuries, according to the coroner’s office.

The pedestrian’s identity and cause of death are pending.

The fatalities are the 58th and 59th traffic-related deaths in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2015. The crash remains under investigation.
