Obama to speak at energy conference at Mandalay Bay

President Barack Obama will be the keynote speaker for the eighth annual “National Clean Energy Summit 8.0: Powering Progress” this month at the Mandalay Bay Resort Convention Center in Las Vegas.

According to a news release:

The summit is set for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 24 and brings together clean-energy advocates, business leaders, students and public officials.

Reid, Obama counselor John Podesta and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz are some of the featured speakers at the summit, which is co-sponsored by Reid, the Center for American Progress, the Clean Energy Project, MGM Resorts International and UNLV.

“President Obama’s record on clean energy and climate stands above all others,” Sen. Harry Reid said in the release. “His administration has made the largest investment in clean energy in American history and there is no place better than Nevada to discuss how we will continue this progress.”
