A man died and two other people, including a teen boy, were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 15 Sunday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

A red Ford F-150 towing a travel trailer was headed north near Speedway Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and entered the right shoulder of the road, according to the highway patrol and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.

The 35-year-old Las Vegas man driving then steered left, which led the trailer to overturn, before the pickup headed into the dirt median and rolled over, according to the highway patrol.

The driver and a 36-year-old Las Vegas woman who was sitting in the front passenger seat were ejected from the pickup, the highway patrol said.

It’s unclear if the 17-year-old Las Vegas boy was ejected. None of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.

The driver was taken to University Medical Center by helicopter and pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m., Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said.

The woman and teen also were taken to UMC, where the woman is in critical condition, Stuenkel said. The teen suffered serious injuries that did not appear life threatening, she said.

Authorities closed the interstate in the area of the crash for about four hours as troopers investigated, and traffic was diverted onto Las Vegas Boulevard North, Stuenkel said.

This is the 41st fatal accident investigated by Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command this year.
