One person was killed and another injured in a shooting Sunday night in an alley in the southwest valley, according to Metro Police.

Police responded about 10:20 p.m. to the 4600 block of West Twain Avenue, near South Decatur Boulevard, where someone reported hearing gunshots and screaming, Officer Jesse Roybal said.

Officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds in the alley. One person, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The other person was taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Police believe the pair were walking through the alley when a male suspect fired multiple shots.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic man, possibly in his 40s, fled the scene in an older model light blue Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck, police said.

This is the 64th homicide investigated by Metro this year.
