Search continues for suspect in northeast valley backyard shooting

Metro Police detectives are still seeking the man they believe fatally shot another man in a northeast valley backyard in September.

Police said the victim was at his home in the 3700 block of Kolanut Lane, near Tonopah Avenue and Walnut Road, about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 21 when a man walked into his backyard hoping to buy drugs. The suspect was turned away, but he returned soon after. A fight ensued between the two, which culminated in the shooting death.

Metro described the suspect as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5-feef-11-inches tall with a muscular build and a shaved head.
