A fire at a vacant house caused an estimated $75,000 worth of damage Sunday morning.
At 2:39 a.m., firefighters responded to 4700 Alpine Place, near Decatur and Charleston boulevards, after Metro Police officers on patrol reported smoke and a house on fire, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said in a press release.
Firefighters were able to bring the heavy flames at the one-story, wood-frame house under control in about 15 minutes.
According to the release, neighbors said the house had been vacant for about a year and a half but was occupied by homeless people, which was reported to police and supported by evidence fire investigators found at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
