Governor names 2 nonvoting members to state Board of Education

CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval has named a Humboldt County school administrator and a Las Vegas student to the state Board of Education that sets policies for schools.

Both are nonvoting members on the board.

David Jensen, superintendent of schools in Humboldt County, succeeds Lisa Noonan of Douglas County. Noonan’s term expired.

Anthony Martinez, a senior at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas, will serve as the student representative, succeeding Kaylyn Taylor of Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas.
