Metro seeking suspect in shooting that left one dead

Metro Police are seeking a suspect in a shooting that left one man dead Saturday.

Officers were called to the 3900 block of East Owens Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on reports that the occupants of two vehicles were involved in a shooting with each other, according to a Metro Press release.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male in a white SUV near Owens and Sugita Lane suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

An investigation revealed that the victim was in the 3900 block of East Owens when he was involved in a shooting with a Hispanic male, who fled the scene in a silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler, the press release said. Detectives were able to locate and recover a silver Chrysler 200 believed to be involved. But Metro is still seeking the suspect.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner's office.

This is the 74th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction in 2015.
