The future of downtown. It’s up to you. The City of Las Vegas is crowd-sourcing it.

The city is producing a master plan that will guide development over the next 20 years. As part of that effort, it is promoting a website seeking feedback from valley residents at

www.visionlv.com.

The city is looking for input about housing types, street design, open space, transportation options and more. It also is asking respondents to choose among three overarching visions for how the city should approach development: The Legend, Reinvented; The Diverse City; and A Co-Created City.

RTKL, a global architecture and urban design firm, developed the survey with input from two public outreach meetings and more than 100 interviews with stakeholders in downtown. Two follow-up public meetings are scheduled for Oct. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“The revitalization of downtown Las Vegas in recent years has been nothing short of remarkable,” Tom Perrigo, the city’s planning director, said in a statement. “Today, the region is at a crossroads as we endeavor to ensure the downtown continues to evolve and grow to its fullest potential as the true heart of our city.”

Downtown Las Vegas has historically been the subject of several redevelopment efforts, including the Fremont Street Experience and the Downtown Project, spearheaded by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh.
